Ladies bring VH1 cameras to Big Easy to document parade ride and one family's rebuilding effort.

The second season of VH1's "The Salt-N-Pepa Show" will include footage from the rappers' scheduled participation in a pre-Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans, as well as their efforts to help a family rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.

 

       Sandy "Pepa" Denton and Cheryl "Salt" James will take part in today's parade thrown by Krewe of Orpheus, a music-based krewe (or New Orleans Carnival organization) founded in 1993 by Harry Connick, Jr. and Sr. with Sonny Borey. Salt-N-Pepa were filmed rolling down St. Charles Avenue in a float adorned with two winged horses and hundreds of decorative flowers.

 

       The rap duo, whose reunion was documented during the show's first season, also spent some time in New Orleans working with St. Bernard Project, an organization that has helped more than 70 families move to St. Bernard Parish since the storm by raising money for building materials and recruiting volunteers.      

       "The main point for coming is to bring attention through the show to the fact that there's still a lot of devastation," Salt told the Associated Press.        

       "The Salt-N-Pepa Show" is scheduled to begin airing its second season on Feb. 11. The New Orleans segments are set for late March/early April.

I wouldn't have ever guessed that there would be a second season.  The way they just took the first season off was kinda strange because they just left you hanging. There was supposed to be another episode but they never played it.  I'm surprised that Salt is down for a second season.  She's forever finding fault in something.  In any case, if I think about it, I'll be watching.
