Report: 76ers, Iguodala agree on $80M deal

The 76ers are making it clear they want Andre Iguodala to stick around.

The dynamic 24-year-old guard-forward agreed to a 6-year, $80-million deal to remain with the team, according to a report Wednesday in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Iguodala could earn $5 million more in bonuses and the sixth year is a player option, the report said, citing a league source.

76ers general manager Ed Stefanski — who said in recent weeks that re-signing Iguodala was a priority — had no comment on the deal to the Inquirer.

Iguodala was Philadelphia's first-round draft choice (ninth overall) in 2004. He averaged 19.9 points, 5.4 rebounds and 4.8 assists in 82 games last season.

This is the second big-money deal the 76ers have handed out this offseason. Last month, Elton Brand received an $82-million contract to leave the Clippers for Philadelphia.

Wow! The Sixers have been coming up off the money this off-season! I guess they got out of that salary cap situation after all. I must say that if they have a game on TV next season, I'll be surely watching. They really impressed me in the playoffs. Congrats to Iggy too!
