R&B singer Monica decided that she has had enough of twitter and the malicious comments from some of her followers today. In a message posted to her twitter account, she announced that she would be leaving twitter:
Hey there. I want to thank all of u who have been so supportive of myself & family for so many years. I hate to say this But I will no longer be on twitter. I love the fact that I am able to speak to my REAL supporters but it has also become a way for people to do malicious things, when my sole intent was to spread positivity. I love u guys dearly and will find ways to stay in touch. I have dear Friends on twitter & team Monica will make sure u have all information on dates etc.
Again I love u guys but this is better for the protection of my children, my family, fiancé and fans. Too much is being said that I didn’t say and for a person that believes so strongly in being 100 at ALL times. I just can’t do it. I will see all of u guys very soon. I LOVE U …Take care
Can’t say I blame her. I understand that celebs use twitter as a means to connect with their fans but twitter also gives life and a voice to internet gangsters that wouldn’t normally have the access to say certain things to those celebs. Plus it’s not always good to invite everyone into your life because unfortunately not everyone is going to be happy for you.
Yesterday she tweeted:
I have a weird feeling that a story full of lies about me is sure to come because someone doesn’t like that I’m happy. It’s NOT Rocko. We have an AMAZING parenting relationship & he’s happy for me. But this other person I brewing more hate and deceit .God gave me the warning now. I’m giving it to my supporters. Just know i will always keep it 100. I pray for my kids,family,fans, and even my enemies. That while all attempts to conquer and destroy me fail #STILL STANDING…
Yep, it's true. She's a goner. Just read the EXACT same thing in my timeline. In my opinion, I think she knows the person that's spreading all of the hate and preparing to spread some serious rumors, if they haven't done so already. I saw yesterday's tweet about how she had a feeling something was about to go down. Damn. Twitter be fucking with folks' heads like crazy. A LOT of celebs either block or unfollow folks every hour it seems, because of one thing or another. Then you got some mofos that tweet the dumbest shit and get mad when you ask them WTF are you talking about, so they block you. LOL at that shit right there. They ALL be having some SERIOUS attitudes with it too. It's funny to me, but...oh well.
Anywhoo... I didn't post the article about Monica and Shannon Brown getting engaged but congratulations to them. If it's what they're ready for, then may God bless their union. I don't know about the whole "Monica being a homewrecker" rumor, but they'll get through that.
I read this morning where she was getting rid of twitter... Like you said a lot of celebs block people like crazy... but anyways congrats to her and Shannon on their engagement!
I heard that she was back on Twitter, under a new twitter name, of course. I didn't understand why she signed off in the first place because all she has to do is block the ignorant people like the other celebs do. But for some reason, I think she knows the person personally. I know Twitter is a social-networking site but on the real, it is keeping a LOT of celebs relevant! Monica is one of them. Twitter has been the BEST thing for a lot of these celebs. If she hadn't signed back on, then who would know what was going on with her? The same applies to her TV show. If she didn't have that show, no one would know that she was coming out with a new album.
