Britney Spears's manager has quit – issuing a statement Monday just hours after her lawyer also stopped representing her.
"It saddens us to confirm media reports that we have terminated our professional relationship with Britney Spears," her management company The Firm said in the statement. "We believe Britney is enormously talented, and has made a terrific record. But current circumstances have prevented us from properly doing our job. We wish Britney the best."
The statement didn't say what those circumstances were.
But Spears has stumbled recently in her career comeback. After releasing a new single "Gimme More" to strong reviews, she gave a disappointing performance opening the MTV Video Music Awards.
The statement confirmed a story first reported by CelebTV.com.
Spears had been represented by Jeff Kwatinetz of The Firm for the past month. He was the second person leaving Spears's camp on Monday.
Earlier in the day, Laura Wasser stepped down as her attorney in the custody battle with Kevin Federline. Wasser said Spears would be in "excellent hands" with her replacement and added, "I don't want anyone to perceive that we're dumping Britney."
Damn. It sounds like Britney's power camp is dwindling by the day. I wonder who will resign next. I wonder what's really up with her though. Is she an addict or what? And if so, I wonder if Kevin Federline kinda pushed her in that direction. It seems like all of her problems began after she started dealing with him.
damn wtf is going on with everyone bouncing...maybe she's doing something that is making their jobs more difficult? idk...i hope she gets the help she needs to get back on her own two feet
