Did anyone catch part one of this forum last night? It came on BET and it was really good! I respect the fact that T.I., Nelly, and Master P took part in such an important debate nowadays. If you missed it, I'm sure you'll see it again. But part two is coming on at 8:00PM EST tonight. Last night, they had Rev. Al Sharpton, Dr. Michael Eric Dyson, who I had no CLUE, was a professor at Georgetown University, Benny Boom, Nelson George and others, along with the rappers and they spoke on a lot of things that kept the discussion very interesting. Melyssa Ford will be on there tonight, and I'm sure they'll be asking her questions about being a video vixen and what her thoughts are on the females that are in the industry today. I may have to tape it tonight though, because a sista is tired as hell, but it should be pretty interesting. Check it out if you're interested.
damnit damnit damnit!! i really wanted to watch this too...being sick made me just forget all about it...i cant wait to see the repeat because i just know it was good....ugh im so mad i missed it, every time i saw the commercial i wud tell myself to remember to watch it and i forgot...smdh
I caught most of the first segment and like 5 minutes of the second one. I thought it was a good debate. I thought the people on the panel had some insightful things to say. I give the artists who were on there props for getting up there and talking too. I know Nelly said that his record label didn't even want him to be on the show. I would have liked to see some other artist such as Diddy or Jay-Z, maybe some old school hip hop artists as well. BET better show it again. They show everything else a thousand times but they get props for putting it together.
Overall, I think the show as a whole was great. I was very surprised by how intelligent Melyssa Ford was, because she made a lot of great points regarding females in these vidoes nowadays. So I can't do anything but give her props. They were re-airing the show around 11:00 last night, I believe, but I'm sure it'll be back on sometime over the weekend. I just hope they play it back-to-back. The only con I have about it is that it's not a weekly segment. I think this is something BET really needs to think about doing. Very informative show.
I watched the end of the first one and i missed all of the second one so they better play it again... but from what i saw of the first one it was good.. it showed people both sides of the arguement instead of just one side... but hopefully i can catch both of them if they come on this weekend...
