Have you guys had a chance to see the film? What did you think? I thought it was a great film and the cast was phenomonial!!! Good to see it doing well in the box office especially with it being an independent film.
I'm starting to believe that I'm the only one who has yet to see this movie. *insert the sad face* I'm going to take one of my movie passes and go see it soon, if I don't get a bootleg copy.
Actually I enjoyed the movie, I don't there could have been better cast to play the roles. The Film was awesome, I almost cried through out the whole entire movie from the different circumstances in the movie and whats gets me the most is people go through this situation everyday. I recommend this movie to anyone.
I wanna see it but it's not out anywhere near me and if i wanted to see it I'd have to drive atleast a hour and half to see it sooo I guess I'll wait til it comes out on DVD or watch it online sometime...
Just came back from seeing this movie and WOW! I thought it was great! Mo'Nique, Mo'Nique, Mo'nique...she's a hell of an actress cuz I wanted to jump through the damn screen damn near through the whole movie! I like that it was sad, funny, and had a WOW factor. For an independent film thats VERY GOOD! I hope they rack up on awards during award season cuz this is the best movie Ive seen all year! It really did the book justice! just WOW. I recommend everyone to check it out too. Read the book 1st if you can. A few ppl I know didn't like it and I feel that had they read the book 1st then they wouldve understood the way it filmed the way it was. I think its great. PERFECT CAST. Good to see new faces playing new parts instead of the same old "black hollywood actresses". And the chick that played Precious....2 THUMBS UP!

Damn. I forgot I purchased the book, LOL. I did want to read it first before seeing the movie so I guess I'll catch it online. I'm reading something else at the moment that I just started yesterday, so I'll pick it up over the weekend.

Yea Monique did her thing x10!!! I thought her last scenes were her best. I had a crush on Lenny Kravitz before but I really got one now. I mean everybody, from the smallest parts did a phenomonial job. I haven't read the book yet but I will have to once I get some free time from school.
So that WAS Lenny! I kept saying dang he look like Lenny but I wasnt really sure and didnt want to be all loud and wrong. Yep the smaller roles were portrayed well too. Especially the other students in Precious class. They were a trip! LMAO
