Report: Fantasia Barrino Hospitalized for Overdose

Fantasia May Have Attempted Suicide, Manager Claims She Was Misled By Antwaun Cook

In case you missed the first post, Fantasia was taken to the hospital last night after overdosing on sleep aid and aspirin. Radar Online has the police report which confirms that police responded to a “suicide attempt” call. She was found in a closest of her home and taken to Mercy South Hospital in Pineville where she is now in stable condition

Her manager has released a statement to TMZ which claims she was completely overwhelmed by the recent lawsuit filed by Antwaun Cook’s wife and all of the media attention surrounding her relationship. He also claims that Fantasia believed Antwaun Cook when he told her that he was not happy in his marriage and that he and his wife had been separated since the Summer of 2009.

The entire statement regarding their relationship below:

Fantasia has always been an open book. Honesty, self-respect, and personal responsibility are values she wears proudly.
Fantasia believed Mr. Cook when he told her he was not happy in his marriage and his heart was not in it. She believed him when he told her he and Mrs. Cook separated in the late summer of 2009. She believed Mr. Cook when he told her he lived elsewhere.
He even took her there. One of Mr. Cook’s most redeeming qualities was his complete devotion to his children. Fantasia fell in love with Mr. Cook and believed that he loved her.
Fantasia and Mr. Cook dated on and off for about eleven months. The pressure of the constant media attention was hard on their relationship. Fantasia gave inconsistent interviews about the status of her relationship with Mr. Cook because sometimes they were on and sometimes they were off.
When they were on, they spent most of their time together when she was not traveling with work.
Fantasia read Mrs. Cook’s Complaint against Mr. Cook for the first time yesterday. She knows some of the allegations in Mrs. Cook’s complaint are totally false. There are others she strongly doubts. There is plenty she does not know.
Fantasia is heartbroken and is sorry for any pain she may have caused.
Yesterday, she was totally overwhelmed by the lawsuit and the media attention. Last night, Fantasia was hospitalized. She took an overdose of aspirin and a sleep aid.
Her injuries are not life threatening. She was dehydrated and exhausted at the time. Fantasia is stable now. She will be released from the hospital soon. Fantasia is a fighter and a survivor. This is not the hardest thing Fantasia has endured.
Fantasia will be stronger, smarter, and better for it. Her work has always inspired her and served as a source of strength. Her new album, “Back To Me,” will be released on August 24th.

I used to date Mr. Cook…before he and Paula were married of course! He is a real charmer that one. In his defense, he is a nice guy but like most men (or people for that matter) when you dont hold them accountable this is what happens. I just hate to see him do this to his family for the seeming security of fame and financial gain. I’m not saying that he doesnt care and/or love Fantasia but a married man is a married man until he is divorced. Any man/woman who is willing to start something else before he completely finishes another should get the *side eye*…and Fantasia allowed that! What is the problem with the women of the Barrino family? The men they choose to spend their lives with seem to ALWAYS get over on them in some way, shape or form! Gotdayum, when does it stop? Shit started with Grandma and filtered down to Fanny, and if she doesn't break the cycle, it's gonna continue to filter down to her daughter, which is sad. When does it get to the point that you say it's time to grow the fuck up and take responsibility for my own actions, both good and bad? Fanny, you knew the pressure was on waaaaaaay before the wife came out. I don't know. I think Fanny KNEW this broad was about to put her ass on blast for the final time. Face it, she was scared as shit because she was on the verge of re-igniting her career and knew this revelation would probably ruin all chances of saving her career. So I guess it was overwhelming for her. BUT.....you reap what you sew! Plain and simple. If Fanny didn't know what the hell was the truth and what wasn't, she should've pulled back and chilled until she got the facts. She knew the radar hadn't fully moved away from her and this dude. Come on now. Freaking North Carolina dropped the dime on her ass! Everybody in the hood knew that nigga was still married to his girl, and they're the same ones that told the girl about him and Fantasia. Shiiiit, they're probably still laughing at her ass for being so far gone off the dick. Shit, there were plenty of shits and giggles to go around when she tattooed that nigga's name on her chest, so I KNOW that SOMEBODY in her circle told her what was really up with that dude. Shit hit the fan to the point that she can be sued for money! Ain't that some SHIT!!! Mannnnn, talk about embarrassing! Off the top, it doesn't look good when you're fucking a married dude, but it's even more terrible when you gotta go to court for it. Shaking MY damn head!

Bottom line is this. Fantasia needs to focus on her daughter and her career. Love will come to her when God is ready to place someone in her life. She has to get her self-esteem together and learn to love herself. You can't find love if you don't love yourself first. There is also entirely too much single dick out here to be trying to kill yourself over a married one. First and foremost, you have a goddamn child! That was some foolish and selfish ass shit. While you're worried about that wife suing your ass and taking your money, AND COOK'S ASS, you better HOPE and PRAY NC Family Services don't come down hard on you and label you as unstable, and take your daughter from you.

I'ma pray for Fantasia because she seems to be at her lowest point, but she needs to do some deep soul-searching. Karma will come back to that clown of a man you were dating too. Oh trust! You weren't the only one involved in this foolishness. Because YOU are a celebrity, YOUR IMAGE is the one that will be tarnished.
