Well if you had any doubts that Lakers guard Shannon Brown and R&B Singer Monica was a couple, look no further for evidence. Shannon Brown pretty much confirmed the relationship this weekend by defending Monica from people who chose to label her a “home wrecker”.
According to gossip rags, Shannon was in a relationship with his child’s mother when he met Monica, however he insists that relationship had run it’s course before he decided to become involved with Monica.
“I write this to set the record straight. Media deception makes unfair and false reports of the truth, and it does not bring out the best in ANYONE. Monica is my girlfriend, confidant and a strong successful women that has been though a lot herself but she is in no way, a home wrecker. As a parent, I understand that parenting requires a partnership with my sons mother however the relationship between us fizzled a long time ago. Thus, never leading up to seven years, engagement or even talks of marriage. As parents, we have to continue to raise our son, and as individuals we both deserve happiness.” Thank you for the support and God Bless!
All the drama that comes with being in a public relationship aside; The most amazing part of this story is that Monica’s fans voted for Shannon Brown as the person she would marry in her “Love All Over Me” video. I think it’s adorable that they ended up together in “real life”….and even more adorable is the fact that he’s taking up for her. #teamshannonandmonica
*sighs* Here we go with this homewrecker stuff again. I'm really beginning to wonder about this whole "2010 is the year of celebrity homewreckers" BS. BUT! I can't front. I thought I had read somewhere a while back that the guy was married. I guess he was just in a serious relationship with his girlfriend. Glad he set the record straight because some of these bloggers out here are a little too caught up in all of this homewrecker crap as if they're saved and sanctified, and have NEVER done anything QUESTIONABLE. If Monica and Shannon are happy, then that's what's most important.
