VH1 has a new “wives” show of non-wives to add to their line up, this time in the form of Hip Hop Wives and Girlfriends. The show, which premieres in March, will feature MaShonda (ex-wife of producer Swizz Beatz), stylist Emily B (girlfriend/baby moms to rapper Fabolous), Chrissy Lampkin (wife of rapper Jim Jones), Somaya Reece (ex-girlfriend of Joe Budden), and Olivia (R&B singer). According to Vibe Magazine:
The series will follow the women as they balance personal relationships and making it in the entertainment industry. Cameras will show Emily and Chrissy trying to lock their men down while Olivia and Somaya give viewers a look at what upcoming artists forgo to get ahead in the music game.
What...in...the...world???? Love & Hip-Hop???? For real???? They ALL sound like they need some money so.....I guess it's right up their alleys. I thought Fabulous was messing with that chick from 3LW. And who knew that Jim Jones was married? I'm not understanding WHY Olivia is on the show. Who is she supposedly "in love" with, or once WAS in love with??? I'm just not understanding her purpose on here, compared to the other ladies......MOST of them, somebody's ex. Come on now. Joe Budden's ex??? Joe Budden??? For real??? They should've snagged Carmen for this joint. Shoooot, Irv Gotti's wife, Deb, too. Now THAT would've been worth watching! SMH, VH-1 is making money hand-over-fist with all of these reality shows with these black women. But, as long as WE continue to watch, THEY will continue to give these shows the green light.
