It's the end of the May-December line for Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore. After six years of marriage and several weeks of silence over rampant rumors that he had an affair, the couple have decided to call it quits.

The 49-year-old actress announced her divorce plans to The Associated Press Thursday, saying she's doing it with "great sadness and a heavy heart."

She said that "as a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life."

Moore adds that it's a trying time for her and her family, so she asked for people to respect her privacy.

The announcement comes on the heels of Us Weekly's tell-all interview with the nubile blonde who claims to have enjoyed condom-less, hot tub-inclusive cuddle-bunnies with the "Two and a Half Men" star in the wee hours of Sept. 24, which was his sixth wedding anniversary.

"I'm a normal 22-year-old girl, and I spent the night with someone who I thought was separated," Texas native Sara Leal told the mag. "If I had known he was happily married, none of this would have ever happened."

While Ashton partied with Leal in San Diego, Demi promoted her Lifetime movie "Five" in New York, where her super-slimline figure raised eyebrows.

"She's very upset and hasn't been eating," a source explained to Us. "It's taking a toll."

Moore certainly appeared stressed when she was snapped camping with Kutcher, 33, in Santa Barbara on Oct. 9. She yelled at an amateur paparazzo, "Please don't expose this."

"Demi is humiliated," an insider sighs to the mag. "She loves him but can't forgive him for the embarrassment he has caused."

After Demi's announcement, Ashton was quick to respond via Twitter. "I will forever cherish the time I spent with Demi," he said. "Marriage is one of the most difficult things in the world and unfortunately sometimes they fail."

Although I'm not surprised, I do feel bad for Demi.  I can only imagine how heartbroken and stressed out she is over this.  Nobody wants a failed marriage and I'm sure she prayed over it before making the decision to file.  There were just too many photos floating around with Ashton and this blonde woman, not to mention the fact that on their six-year anniversary, he spent the night out with her.  And I don't believe for a minute that this chick had no idea that Ashton Kutcher wasn't married. You may be a blonde but you ain't THAT dumb! Tell that crap to the next one.
